“Divvi is the best and more efficient way to provide results-driven builder incentives.” – Luuk, Ecosystem Lead at Celo Public Goods.
In May, Divvi partnered with Celo Public Goods to launch Proof of Impact: a results-based reward campaign for apps consuming gas on Celo Mainnet – gas consumption being a reliable proxy for network activity.
In 6 weeks, 75K CELO was permissionlessly distributed to 119 builders who registered 63,186 unique users transacting on Celo Mainnet. 100% of the funding went to the builders.
⏳ Estimated time spent: 10 hours
Divvi provides flexible infrastructure for protocols to define their KPI. The Celo Public Goods (Celo PG) team estimates they spent about 10 hours with the Divvi team, designing and scoping out their campaign.
“It was easy, especially since Divvi is able to fetch the important metrics we're looking for.” – Luuk
Divvi gives backend protocols very granular control over the variables dictating the terms of their campaign, including how to distribute rewards.
CeloPG chose to reward builders based on the gas fees their users generate on Celo, as a reliable proxy for network activity.
The campaign was intentionally designed for experimentation, with three reward periods, the first being only 2 weeks and the following two being a month long.
Rewards were also set up to increase over each period, with 25K CELO rewarded in May, 50K CELO in June, and 75K CELO in July. At the end of each month, rewards are allocated proportionally based on each builder's share of total gas fees generated.
Builder's Reward Share = (Builder's Gas Consumption) / (Total Gas Consumption by All Builders participating in the Divvi campaign)
⏳Estimated time spent: 1 hour
Once the decisions are made, the implementation is straightforward. CeloPG’s team set up their rewards contract with tokens and a timelock. A timelock provides app builders with some certainty over potential rewards: the longer the timelock, the less risk for builders.
Builders are rewarded permissionlessly via the Divvi campaign contract, and can find their payments in the Divvi Builder Hub.
100% of the amount spent by CeloPG went to builders driving onchain outcomes.
Divvi’s campaigns are infinitely scalable, without being gameable.

The number of builders this program is incentivizing permissionlessly keeps growing, and can continue to do so with no extra logistics.
Divvi can also help you define the right KPI to avoid rewarding extracting behavior – namely by using a proportional prize context model. Learn more about how Divvi’s programs are designed to evolve and adapt against new exploits.
For builders, there is no application, no pitch. Just 10 lines of code.
